Renewable Energies
From supplying solar panels to providing financing options, the Renewable Energies division has helped complete hundreds of renewable projects that include microgrids, utility-scale solar farms, and more. With a dedicated renewable sales team, City Electric Supply (CES) can provide direct support and technical assistance to local branches from start to finish on any project, big or small. They also have offer electric vehicle solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial infrastructure projects.
Marine
The Marine division has more than 35 years of experience as a maritime supplier for shipping companies, marine terminals, cruise lines, and port cities. Whether onshore or offshore, the Marine division supplies everything from shipboard consumables and ship spares to materials for terminal upgrades.
Government Services Administration

As a GSA supplier, City Electric Supply is fully equipped, vetted, and certified to fill any government contract, no matter how large or small. From lighting and tools to breakers and gear, we can serve as the single supplier for all energy-related contracts.
Corporate and National Solutions
The Corporate and National Solutions (CNS) division provides a full range of lighting solutions for businesses with multiple locations. From concepts and layouts to execution and maintenance, CNS assists businesses in creating an ideal environment for their clients.
The IT Department
The IT department develops, manages, and maintains all technical systems with City Electric Supply, giving everyone in the company the ability to create custom solutions for customers across North America. The department is split into Software Engineering, Infrastructure and Operations, HelpDesk, Pricing, Web, and Data Management. Starting with EDI and e-procurement, the department offers electronic invoicing, custom e-procurement processes, and punchout systems for customers.
Web
The web team maintains the CES website and ensures its security and functionality to provide our customers, vendors, and employees with the opportunity to order products online and create custom order kits. They also collaborate to develop consistent pricing for more than 100,000 SKUs.
Security
The security team manages and maintains security and network infrastructure across North America. They work together to prevent unauthorized access to company assets, including workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
The Marketing Team
As a full-service marketing and advertising team, we offer everything from print and digital marketing to company signage and interior merchandising. Through passion and persistence — and a lot of fresh coffee — the CES Marketing department develops and pushes the CES brand forward with a talented group of copywriters, graphic designers, field marketers, social media strategists, and more.
Local and National Campaigns
The Marketing department develops marketing campaigns for all branches across the United States. From concept to execution, the Marketing team supports all marketing needs from individual branch events to nationwide promotions.
CES Connect
CES Marketing is responsible for CES Connect, previously called the North American Managers' Conference, which is a company conference held bi-annually since 2014 to celebrate our achievements as a company and recognize the people who make it possible.
Over three days, CES brings over 1,000 employees to one location for learning, networking, growing, and connecting. On the final day of the conference, CES hosts the largest counter day in the industry with over 50 vendors providing product demos and giveaways for attendees.
The Accounting Department
The City Electric Supply Accounting department is split into CES Online Accounting, HR/Payroll, and Properties and Risk Development. Together, they oversee all aspects of the company’s financials.
Responsibilities
Overseeing company financials includes maintaining banking relationships and company 401(k) plans. The team also researches and develops efficient ways to process administrative responsibilities, evaluate the accounting software development committee, and oversee the medical committee, insurance plans, and vehicle and operating leases.
Latest Projects
The Accounting team recently implemented a new payroll provider, Paycom, which allows employees easy access to their payroll data. The team also has a new expense app to eliminate paper expense claims across our branch network, and they’ve recently integrated a one-step process for new customers to gain streamlined access to their CES accounts online.
The Training Department
Because training is an essential part of employee, customer, and company success, the Training department is constantly developing innovative learning opportunities to bring new employees up to speed and help current employees add to their skillsets. As a company that prides itself on promoting from within, we heavily invest in training because we believe it has a direct impact on internal growth. With our comprehensive online training programs, we’ll help you hone the professional and technical skills you need to be successful, as well as give you the tools you need to increase your product knowledge.
CES University
CES University is designed for our team members at any level to learn more about the electrical wholesale field and the products we offer. With eLearning, employees can train on their own time to learn how the company operates and how their roles impact the business as a whole. On top of company courses, vendors also provide custom training to help employees feel more confident selling products. Modules are only a few minutes long, allowing employees to easily watch videos and learn about new products and sales methods.
Regional Training
Regional training provides live learning and engagement opportunities. Our trainers work with team members on specific jobs so that everyone can best contribute to the success of City Electric Supply. The program offers resources, builds relationships, and provides opportunities for all CES team members. Every day, employees gather to network and learn as the training team helps members develop their skills.
