Leading The Custom Closet Industry Since 1983
Our clients are unique, and so are their needs. No one knows that better than us. When it comes to creating personalized solutions that are smart, well organized, and satisfy their design sensibilities, we believe the process begins with a partnership between the client and our designers. We call this process the art of organization in which we unlock a space's potential through this collaborative effort, helping people transform their homes and routines into organized storage havens.
We design with best practices and build with the highest quality materials. Once a design is purchased, the process to transform a space from concept to reality begins with Closet Factory's craftsmen going to work using state-of-the-art machinery, fabricating each component to match the precise specifications of the design. Then, working as a team, every department prepares each piece of custom cabinetry with meticulous attention to detail. And we do it all at the local Closet Factory franchise using materials from local vendors and our preferred national suppliers.
Our clients rest assured that their design progresses through the different manufacturing stages scrutinized for precision, getting the product ready for the installers to build the custom storage system at their home. Then, come installation day, the installers do their work with the utmost care to ensure the outcome is a beautifully built personalized solution that exceeds client expectations. And just like that, the Closet Factory system is ready for the client to enjoy.
So whether you work at one of our locations in Los Angeles, New York, or somewhere between, you will find the same high-grade closet materials, highly trained designers, and excellent craftsmanship that defines the Closet Factory brand.
Great Product In High Demand
When we started Closet Factory became a leader in the custom closet and the home organization industry by only offering a floor-based closet system instead offering what everyone else did – a wall hung system. Why? Because when you use high quality materials a closet is heavy and as soon as you add clothes it becomes too much weight to hang on a wall. That crucial and fundamental decision backed by sound engineering became the foundation for the changes that revolutionized the closet industry.
It also was much better for clients. Instead of the limitations of a wall-hung system, a system that sits on the floor allows a client to full adjustability so that the closet can change over time as clients needs change. That means that a closet only needs to be installed once. As life changes affect the wardrobe, shelves can be moved, hanging can be increased, drawers can be added or other adjustments can be made to accommodate the change.
Today, we are still in that leadership position, offering innovative designs in more than 50 independently owned franchise territories across the United States. We have always had a “can do anything” attitude and understand that the style of custom closets is just as important as the organization. We offer more colors, accessories and finishes so our clients have the most choices when they use us.
And don’t stop at closets. We help clients organize their entire home. We specialize in home offices, entertainment centers, garage systems, pantries, bookshelves, wall beds, wall units, libraries, mud rooms, children’s spaces and more. Our goal is to improve our client lifestyles while giving our designers and installers continuous career growth, steady work and increased earning potential. This is true in each one of our locations across the country. As locations expand and new franchises open, employees of our network can easily transition laterally to another franchise or find advancement as one's life path or interests change.
Collaborative Closet Design Offering
We always want our clients to feel comfortable and get an appointment that is convenient for them. We offer three different ways to work with a Designer. Clients can select virtual, in-home or a hybrid of the two methods. No matter which type of appointment they choose, they will be working with one of our certified Designers that have graduated from our training program.
Collaborative Closet Design Success
We believe strongly that the best closet is one that has been designed with a client – not for a client. There is a huge difference. The way we work with our customers is to listen to what they want. We train every Designer the questions to ask and how to deeply listen to everything a client is saying so we can arrive at the perfect design. Yes, it is more time-consuming than just designing something quickly or trying to minimize the design to make the price lower. Our focus is on what is best for each person so that they end up with want they want rather than what we think they want.
We are different than our competitors. When we say we are custom, we are truly custom. That means that we take everything to the next level. Not only do we have more selections of solid, textured and woodgrain melamine, but we offer custom-stained wood and painted finishes. We also stay on the cutting edge of trends in interior design offering Modern, Traditional, Contemporary, Asian Fusion, French, Rustic and Shaker styles. No wonder we are the company used by highly regarded builders, interior designers and architects.
Here is how our collaborative process works:
The first step is to understand the goals the client has for the space. The Designer will get to know what each client likes, how they want to store their clothes, what look do they want and how do they want to feel every time they use that space. This is essential to create the perfect design. Requests from clients range from increasing space to store more items, showcasing an amazing shoe collection, focusing on getting organized or creating a boutique feel. The fact that we can match cabinets in the home opens a whole world of choices and options.
Once the Designer measures and takes an inventory of the items stored in the space, the design of how everything will be organized starts to form. The Designer and client work together discussing where everything will be placed and what to do with the extra room. The Designer will either draw the design by hand or use design software what the space will look like so the client can visualize how the area will be transformed.
The last part is a collaboration on style. The client gets to select the materials, accessories and different elements to add to make the space one-of-a-kind and something that will fit with the décor of the home. The entire process is fun and leaves many clients dreaming of their installation day when all of the planning will come to life.
