Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At Colgate, our values support our commitment to being a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. We believe that creating an organization of diverse perspectives will enable even more innovation and better decision making in order to accelerate business growth.

We are committed. We are optimistic. We are building a brighter, healthier future for all.

"Our goal is to make Colgate a place where everyone feels they belong, where we can be our authentic selves and achieve our potential as respected members of the team." - Derek Gordon, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer

People - we are actively working to become a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable company

  • Pay Parity: Colgate has long been committed to pay equity and its role in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Colgate conducts an annual U.S.-based pay analysis for gender and race, and also conducted a global gender-based pay analysis in 2020. Our results confirm that in the United States, Colgate has achieved statistical pay equity for gender and race. Globally, there is less than 1% unexplained difference in pay between women and men, and we are committed to continuing our work to close that gap.
  • Career Advancement: We invest in initiatives to ensure that Colgate people can maximize their potential. We offer a number of leadership development programs focusing on cultivating future Colgate leaders, including individuals from underrepresented groups. These include Advancing Cricial Capabilities Empowers Leaders (ACCEL) for emerging Black and African-American leaders and the Velvet Suite Brand Leadership program for high-potential women.
  • Employee Resource Groups: Reflecting the Power of We, our ERGs propel employee engageemnt, fortify equity and inclusion, and drive business results. Some of our ERGs include the Black Leadership Network, the Asian Action Network, the LGBTQ&A, Latinx Leadership Network, the Colgate Women's Network, and the Colgate Abilities Network.
  • Diversity Leadership Councils: Colgate's DLCs are responsible for establishing inclusive frameworks for talent management and leadership practices. This year, we added Councils in Hill's North America, India, Latin America, and global supply chain.
  • Distinctions: We are proud to continue to be recognized by a number of leading organizations for our DE&I efforts. Check out our website for a sampling of our most recent honors.

Community - we are committed to being an ally for positive change for underserved populations in communities in which we live and work. Some examples include,

  • Bright Smiles, Bright Futures: For 30 years, Colgate's flagship oral health education initiative has reached more than a billion children across 80 countries.
  • Colgate Women's Games: Since 1973, the Colgate Women's Games track-and-field program has helped girls and young women develop self-esteem, value teamwork and discover the importance of education.
  • MentorHER: Colgate is proud to be a title sponsor for MentorHER, an intiative where talented young high-school girls, college, and post-graduate women are provided critical funding, resources, and meaningful mentor relationships.
