Degreed revolutionizes learning in the workplace, serving one third of Fortune 50 companies with a platform that spans 191 countries, enabling personal and professional growth through diverse learning methods.
Degreed believes that people do their best work when they’re happy and feel supported. From the beginning, we’ve invested in building a company culture that champions lifelong learning, celebrates diversity, and creates a workplace where our team members can thrive while doing impactful work that’s solving big problems.
When you’re knee-deep in trying to change the way the world does something, your principles have to be both unwavering and rock solid. Everything we do, and everything we believe in, aligns with helping people and businesses progress. This starts with our own people. It’s why we’re adamant about things like learning, work/life balance, equality, empathy, and dedication. And why we have no problem going all in. We'll bet the farm in order to accomplish the mission, even if it means we end up farm-less. Our principles drive how we interact with the world, with each other as Degreed employees, and how we drive the world forward.
Our Mission
Degreed started with a mission to challenge the college degree & other traditional credentials as the only way to set yourself up for success. Our upskilling platform is built on people’s inherent desire to learn, grow, & advance in their careers, giving them the data, tools, & skills to make progress — degree by degree.
Our Belief
We believe everyone is driven by an innate desire to learn and grow. By equipping people with the skills the world needs, we help them redefine their careers, their companies, & their fields. We believe that together we can push the limits of what’s possible.
Our Purpose
We propel people and their companies toward their aspirations & goals. By providing the guidance, learning, & insights they need, we help them to not only understand where their strengths lie, but to amplify and multiply them.
We’ve proudly built a work environment where every employee can do the best work of their careers — and be their authentic selves doing it. We have various business resource groups that promote mental and physical wellness, equality for every identity, and a unified culture where we’re understood and recognized for our contributions.
Business Resource Groups Operating Vision
Our groups strive to be bold, intentional, impactful, transparent and integrate Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Strategies into our Business Practices at all levels of the leadership and organization. We commit to investing in our diverse people and teams to move the needle on engagement, culture, opportunities and diversity, inclusion and belonging metrics. We promote a sense of community and belonging through internal events and client partnerships.
People Over Profit
We’ve always said, “Think of Degreed as your team, not your family. Your family is more important than Degreed.” And we stand by that principle. Of course, our mission is critical, but it’s not a matter of life and death. You and your loved ones always come first. So take a personal day or three. And look forward to Natesgiving, our annual week-long summer hiatus in honor of one of our executives.
We believe your best work happens when you have a complete life balance, and Degreed has the benefits to make that happen. We’ve got it made from the 100% flexible schedule and unlimited time off to a monthly personal learning stipend. We've even beefed up the expected benefits (health, dental, vision) with some additions, like dependent care allowance, wellness reimbursements, and 401(k) matching.
Degreed is the upskilling platform that connects learning to opportunities. We integrate everything people use to learn and build their careers — skill insights, LMSs, courses, videos, articles and projects — and match everyone to growth opportunities that fit their unique skills, roles, and goals. Pros
- Working alongside so many other like-minded, hard-charging, intelligent people. Degreed truly has many of the industry's best. The best learning company staffed with the best learning minds. - The Degreed vision - A strong, positive culture with a bias-to-action. Decision making and radical ideas are encouraged. - The commitment to DEI is real. I've seen the metrics and it's not just a talk track. - I have felt more valued in my time at Degreed than anywhere else I've worked. As such, I've accomplished more in the past year than I ever thought was possible. - You can work from the place that best fits your desires and effectiveness. For some, that's in the office. For me, that's my home office. Nobody is mandating a "return to office". Face-to-face is encouraged if you're comfortable with it, but there's ZERO pressure. - Work hard, play hard. Innovative companies can suffer from burnout and the company and leadership realizes that. We are encouraged to put work down, use our unlimited PTO, and refresh. You're going to work hard but not at the expense of your work/life balance. - I'm working harder than I've ever worked before. Not because I must or because of a punitive culture or micro-managing leaders. But because everyone believes in what we're doing and where we're going. And that kind of energy is contagious, and I find myself not wanting to put work down!Cons
I don't have any cons from my POV. But I will share this: if you're coming from an employer where secrets and information control ruled the day, you're going to have to recalibrate your mindset. Transparency is valued from the very top of the org and you must be prepared to hear it all. Both the easy and difficult messages. Leadership is great at helping you put it all into perspective.
