Worst day here is still better than the best anywhere else

Pros

Remote-first culture: being entrusted with the autonomy to excel in one's position without micromanagement has been absolutely paramount to our success. This is truly a rare and wonderful thing, as the world is shifting back to the in-office, butts in seats mentality that has been the harbinger of toxicity, mental and physical health decline, and struggle of balancing work and life. DNSFilter has been doing remote since day 1, 5 years before the world went sideways. I applaud the leadership's fervent support of this remote-first culture! Embracing adversity: No company is perfect, DNSFilter included. We have good days, we have bad days, but in the end we rally together as a team to overcome challenges with aplomb. I'll be frank in saying that we've had some senior leaders in my time here that were not a great cultural fit, whose short-sighted decisions had significant implications on the way the business was operated. Having since parted ways with those leaders, it's clear that the people who are still here care enough to voice their concerns and work with their peers to keep things on the up and up. This tactic of embracing adversity has become one of the company's core values. The product: how often does one get to work for a company whose product has a global addressable market? It's truly exciting to see the value of what we're building, and how transformative it can be for an organization looking to protect themselves from all manner of domain-based threats. Constant iteration and improvement has allowed DNSFilter the opportunity to experience consistent, responsible growth.

Cons

A lot of the things I'd consider listing here have since been rectified through some tough decisions over the years I've been here. There are certainly some team members who seem to be shy about sharing their true thoughts or suggestions on how to improve things, which was revealed in a very transparent "ask me anything" style questionnaire released by the CEO where a lot of team members vented some pointed frustrations anonymously.
