Pros

Empower will provide everything you need to do excel at your responsibilities in your role. All you need to do is show up and perform. If you are a team player and a hard worker this is a good place for you. The benefits are great and the people are all like minded.

Cons

Expectations are high. If you don't want to work, you are in the wrong place. Things are always changing and you will be expected to keep up a quick pace. The needs in the financial industry are high paced as well. The tools are here but you will need to be a self starter and a great listener.

How we’re taking action

  • We offer inclusive benefits to same-sex partners, paternity and maternity benefits and transgender transition benefits.
  • Through partnerships with groups like the Latino Leadership, Disability:IN, Human Rights Campaign Institute and Women in Pension Networks, we’re expanding our pool of candidates.
  • Our Business Resource Groups rally around common interests, experiences and identities; today, more than 20% of our associates belong to at least one Business Resource Group.

Through our Associates Community Together (ACT) program, we empower our associates to support the many causes closest to their hearts and amplify their impact with company support. 

 

Action matches: We match volunteer hours and funds up to $5,000 per associate per year.

Action hours: We give associates up to 16 hours of paid time off annually to volunteer. 

Action teams: We support associates as they create or join teams to participate in charitable fundraising events.

Action committees: We encourage associates to form volunteer committees to plan philanthropic events and activities with and for their colleagues.

Health, dental and vision coverage

Medical, dental and vision coverage begin on your date of hire. Medical choices include PPO and HDHP with HSA plan options. For dental coverage, you have access to a basic plan with a buy-up option. For vision coverage, you have access to a national network of providers.

Retirement savings

Our 401(k) plan allows you to set aside pretax money for retirement. This includes immediate vesting of company-matched funds and a wide choice of investment options.

Insurance

As an associate, you receive basic life and long-term disability insurance coverage at no cost. We also offer supplemental coverage under several optional plans.

  • Paid time off upon hire (no accrual!) – in addition to nine paid holidays and three floating holidays each calendar year.
