This integrated approach is built on accountability among leadership and employees at all levels of the Company to ensure inclusion and diversity is incorporated into our day-to-day business practices. This is promoted through a national inclusion and diversity council and local diversity committees of which employees in various roles can participate and contribute. In addition, we cultivate an open, inclusive and respectful work culture that encourages collaboration and fosters creativity, innovation and employee engagement. 2021 inclusion and diversity goals 

In 2021 we hope to grow our inclusion and diversity presence within our national network through:

1. Continuing to increase the number of hospital inclusion and diversity committees.
2. Continuing to grow local partnerships with HBCUs.
3. Expanding strategic focus to recruit and develop more diverse candidates for entry level and leadership roles.
4. Capitalizing on our existing accelerated and leadership development programs to identify and promote top diverse talent within the Company.
5. Continuing to operationalize inclusion and diversity in day-to-day business practices.

The goal of rehabilitation nursing is to assist individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function. Empowering patient outcomes, rehabilitation nurses at Encompass Health see the patient as a whole, focusing on helping the patient and family participate in therapies they need to prepare for life after the hospital. While no two days are alike, our nurses are motivated by making a difference, and at Encompass Health hospitals, that difference is made during every shift. 

Our nurses are given the unique opportunity to build strong relationships and friendships with their patients, becoming invested in their recovery. Growth and development opportunities for our nurses are extensive. Some options include: continuing education courses, tuition reimbursement, discounted tuition rates for nursing degrees, mentorship programs, and upward mobility, among others!

Encompass Health has opened 5 hospitals in 2021 alone, with plans to open two more before the end of the year. Next year, 13 hospitals are slated to open. With the extreme amount of growth, there is a wealth of opportunity for clinical and non-clinical roles.
