ECI is proud to have a Women of ECI Employee Resource Group (ERG) available to all women within the company.  The Women of ECI was developed through some women managers within ECI, with a common goal of bringing more diversity and inclusion to the company.    This group serves as platform for female voices to raise concerns that come up in a male dominated industry.  A sounding board for improvements on a local scale or throughout the company.  A resource page for company updates, news, links, and an overall community for moral support.   A group consisting of over 100 women – to share experiences, learn from each other, and build a community in which everyone feels safe and heard.

Culture

CULTURE

The unique nature of the UVM community makes attracting and retaining high quality employees essential to successfully delivering services. To meet this challenge, it takes a company with a culture that appreciates the value of relationships, diversity, and teamwork. At ECI, culture is the foundation of our company.

Our Vision, Mission, Values, and Principles describe who we are, what we stand for, where we’re headed and how every ECI team member can help get us there safely, leading by example.  As members of the same team, it doesn’t matter what our respective responsibilities are, our titles, what projects we are working on, or where we live and work.  We are all leaders and our common vision, mission, values and principles form the fabric that holds us together wherever we are, whatever we do.  As leaders, we are committed to inspire, positively influence, and support one another, our clients, our industry and the communities we serve.

The same five basic core values that guide our organization–Trust, Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Balance–are evident throughout any project we undertake, making ECI the most preferred utility vegetation management consulting company in the industry.

ECI Women Foresters

ECI IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE SARAH TYO, ACCOUNT MANAGER - NORTHEAST, HAS BEEN AWARDED THE PATRIOTIC EMPLOYER AWARD

The award was granted by the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Sarah was nominated for the award by ECI's Joshua Gross, Transmission Outreach Forester. 'Sarah has shown appreciation and support for my military service.  She has been willing to make accommodations when I have required military training dates that conflict with my ECI work schedule.  Sarah has given me the resources and materials necessary to help me succeed and advance my civilian job with ECI, regardless of my commitment to my military career.  When finishing a block of military training, I look forward to returning to my civilian job because of the positive work environment that Sarah has helped created.  These are the reasons why I recommended her for the Patriot Award, and why this is well deserved," Josh reported.

Testimonials

TESTIMONIALS

FRANCESCA PEAY, ASSOCIATE FORESTRY SPECIALIST, ECI

I’ve worked in national parks and in marine science, but I rank my nearly 2 years with ECI as the best job I’ve had. I really appreciate having autonomy in my workday, a strong commitment to safety, and the opportunities and resources provided for upward mobility within the industry. It’s great waking up in the morning and looking forward to my workday because I have a job that serves as a foundation for an exciting career, I’m outdoors, and doing something new everyday.

CHRISTOPHER MAGNANO, PROJECT OVERSIGHT SPECIALIST, ECI

Today marks two years for me with ECI, and I have to say it still feels like a dream.  Hands down ECI is the BEST company I have worked for, period.  My journey in the landscaping & utility line clearance industry has been a long and interesting one.  I have worked for a few different employers on the "manual labor" side of the industry, constantly feeling like I had something more to offer other than my back & sweat. Before ECI, I only had jobs.  Now (for the first time in my professional life) I have a career that offers me opportunities to grow & thrive in an industry that I have loved from a very early age.  I no longer feel stuck and feel that I am building toward a future for myself & family.  For the first time in my life, I feel proud when people ask me what I do and who I work for.

BRET SCHOENING, WORK PLANNER/RESOURCE COORDINATOR, ECI

Many years ago I was involved in the Boy Scouts both as a scout and later as a leader. I have taken a number of leadership classes through that organization as well as having taught most of them. One theme rang true across the spectrum of that education; let those around you know when they are doing well. I have carried this policy with me ever since, both in my professional and personal life.

Throughout this onboarding process I have been impressed with the military precision of all involved. Starting with my initial interview, continuing to onboarding and training. The training has been laid out in an easily digestible format and time was taken to not only explain when there was confusion but I truly felt like I was treated like family throughout the week 1 training.

The level of transparency and vulnerability is unlike any I have never seen before -and I doubt I will ever see again. ECI was able to inculcated a deep trust within us that appears to be universal in all of my coworkers. We are certain that our hard work will not only be compensated fairly, but also genuinely appreciated at ECI.

Furthermore we were taken aback when we found out that we were all being provided with private hotel rooms, brand new phones, such good benefits, and the list goes on. The company has clearly understood that we are an investment and this has not been taken lightly by either this class and dare I say, by ECI. Frankly, in all of the jobs I have held, never have I felt more valued, more appreciated, or more human. I feel this sentiment is echoed among my peers.

Finally, I would like to say that from a professional perspective, the week 1 training was fun, and exciting! I have finished “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” and I see ECI living out the principles of that book. Perhaps of all that I have been impressed with, this is the most vibrant point. It is on this fact that I have decided that indeed, I am not working for “just another company”. In fact, as I have pondered carefully throughout this process about the true disposition of ECI, I have arrived at the undeniable conclusion that this really is a dream team company. An organization that is breaking the rules of corporate America and paving a way forward that is truly setting up ECI to be the company to beat, and the company to work for.

DUTIN GIBBS, UTILITY ARBORIST, ECI

"As a veteran who left the Marines in 2015, I bounced from job to job eagerly trying to find the type of leadership that inspired me to be the best. But it wasn’t until I was volunteering on Arbor Day in 2019 with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce that I met an employee from a company I’m truly proud to work for. In hindsight maybe I should have been volunteering in my community before then, and I would’ve found an organization that I believe in quicker. Nonetheless I ask, do you ever get the feeling that some people are just a good fit? Fortunately, that’s the connection I felt about ECI after interacting with one of their employees who was volunteering alongside me on Arbor Day."

"I started my new career at ECI in June 2019 with minimal experience in the vegetation management industry, key word on the minimal. I was scared to say the least but as veterans can attest, we are well adapted at overcoming adversity. My first week on the job began with me being flown to Wake Forest, NC for a comprehensive training program that was designed to bring me up to par with industry expectations. Of course, during this training there were doubts if I had made the right decision, but this apprehension was put to rest after interacting with the leadership at ECI. We’ve all had that senior leader who thought they were the best thing since sliced bread, but not at ECI. The genuine care the leadership possesses about their employees and down to earth attitude put me at ease. With confidence I can say thus far, humility has been an attribute of every employee I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with."
