Pros
Great immediate team members that are also from the surrounding community the organization serves. A lot of them are truly there to professionally serve and give their best despite grave environmental challenges of the work place.Cons
Significant pay gap and unreasonably low compensation especially given the location of the organization in a wealthy part of Ontario, where cost of living is higher and commute is inconvenient from other regions. Due to the above, you have high turn around and great staff shortage all across the board, especially in technical and specialized positions, making it a great challenge to train new staff and, if successful, hard to retain them. That inconsistency in staffing and team dynamics make for added pressure on members that need to constantly pick up the slack.
