Work at Jane Street is exciting and challenging. We trade in incredibly competitive, fast-paced environments, and feedback on successes and failures is quick and tangible. This allows for constant evaluation and improvement of our strategies and performance.
Games & Puzzles
We enjoy playing strategic and mathematical games to teach game theory and risk, as well as hone discipline, memory, and quant skills. In addition to organized tournaments, there are frequent chess, bridge, and poker games after the markets close. Our team includes nationally competitive contract bridge players and titled chess players. Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, Best Female Chess Player Judit Polgar, and three time World Series of Poker bracelet winner David Sklansky have visited Jane Street as guest speakers.
Although specific roles may require specific skills, there are common threads that run through all people at Jane Street.
We focus primarily on being a fun, challenging, and rewarding place to work. That’s driven by the quality and cohesiveness of the team, which is why our interview process is so arduous, and why such a large number of current employees are involved in choosing their colleagues.
