To preserve the stories from the past through innovation and to empower government leaders to better serve their communities.
Pros
I learned a bizarre, fascinating trade (document preservation and restoration) that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Might sound strange, but truly, I sometimes get a little teary eyed thinking of that place. On a less strange note, if you're an introvert, you (mostly) get to work on your own, on independent projects. The immediate management were all nice people. Hours were somewhat flexible. If you don't have a car, the NC unit is on a bus line. If you're desperate for a job, you could do much worse.Cons
When I worked here a few years back, they relied heavily on temp labor, and that hurt morale. There aren't straight forward opportunities for advancement. If there had been, I would've stayed for sure. It was a neat place to work.
