Increasing Access

From mentorship to sponsorship to professional networks, we know that no one does it alone. Through our four pillar programs, we’re actively working to reshape the DEI landscape in our industry from the inside, out.

• Residency Program: Residency offering full-time experience for participants completing their bachelor's degree.
• Returnship Program: Internship welcoming experienced workers seeking to reenter the workforce after two or more years. 
• Development Program: Hiring and development program that teaches entry-level employees professional and job-based skills, preparing them for long, successful careers with us. 
• Reverse Mentorship Program: Program exposing our senior leaders to different perspectives, informing behavioral changes rooted in empathy for an experience beyond their own.

Backgrounds We Look For
We seek smart, driven individuals who can contribute expertise gained from a variety of past experiences. Our staff of industry specialists includes PhDs, MBAs, and a number of professional designations including CFA charterholders. But you don’t necessarily need a business degree or a finance background for every role at Morningstar. We prize both creativity and analytical ability; a varied, interesting background gets our attention. You’ll find people at all levels of the company with degrees that range from Russian literature to history, English, and psychology. 

A Variety of Roles
Morningstar jobs require all types of talents. We regularly hire for positions including designers, researchers, salespeople, developers, and project managers. From our first days in business, we’ve been an early adopter of new technologies and believe in building great products in-house. We maintain a staff of hundreds of technologists who help us continue to push technology’s boundaries to find new and better ways to serve investors.

The Morningstar Development Program is a two-year opportunity that provides recent college graduates the ability to explore different career paths through full-time placement in one of our offices. During the two-year program, participants will receive ongoing career development, mentorship and training, and apprenticeship opportunities with various business groups, such as investment management, data, tech, and research.
