Pros
Hands off management let's you get your work done in your own way. As long as it's done well they don't micromanage. Administration is friendly and approachable. There is no "holier than thou" mentality that is so pervasive in other agencies. Most of the staff is friendly and tolerant, even if their jokes suggest otherwise. They will give you all the work you want, but you are not expected to work a crazy amount of hours. It's your choice.Cons
They do nothing to promote or encourage continuing education. Due to staffing shortages there are employees that should not be allowed to practice medicine. No direct deposit. Benefits are lacking. As for private EMS in general (problems with all private EMS agencies, not just NDP) the pay is low, the stress is extraordinarily high, there is no room for advancement and the benefits are poor.
