Pros

The company is comprised of professionals who know what they are doing and want to help others grow in the industry as well.

Cons

With multiple locations it can be difficult to get to know everyone in your department.

PMA provides a work environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) among our staff. As a Hispanic-owned minority business enterprise (MBE), we understand the importance of regularly looking for opportunities to partner with small, local, diverse, and women-owned firms. We are committed to an ever-evolving culture that embraces DE&I, knowing that our respect of diverse backgrounds provides new perspectives that broaden our capabilities and propels our industry forward.

Within this overall culture and its ongoing efforts, PMA has multiple key areas that specifically contribute to DE&I:

Collaboration and Partnership As a National Minority Supplier Development Council certified MBE firm, PMA understands and embraces our role in assisting small, disadvantaged, and establishing businesses to grow and flourish. In 2021, PMA contracted with 16 different DBE, LGBT, SDVOBE, MBE, VBE, and WBE certified firms across the US, providing more than $1.6 million in revenue for disadvantaged businesses partners, and increased this number to $1.78 million in revenue the following year.   Learning and Development In 2022, PMA initiated its first Leadership Development Program, comprised 15 attendees (20% women and 40% minority participants) who spent seven weeks exploring specific competency drivers. After graduation, the program continued through mentorship and alumni-lead initiatives. Additionally, we have partnered with the Cristo Rey Network, mentoring high school youth in select PMA office environments, creating opportunities to shadow engineers, project managers, marketing, and finance to get real-world, hands-on education in project management consulting.    Corporate Social Responsibility  Our Corporate Social Responsibility Committee frames guidelines and options for our employees to engage in activities promoting sustainability and involvement within their communities. In addition to volunteering, we support cultural and economic development through educational programs, work internships, and partnerships with nonprofit organizations.    Hiring Practices PMA is committed to building a team with more comprehensive knowledge and experience for our clients. To encourage diversity in our hiring, we partner with or post our jobs on several targeted websites such as Employment Development Departments (several states), Hire Heroes USA, the National Society of Black Engineers, the American Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers. In 2022 68% of our candidates who self-identified were from minority groups. Of our new hires who chose to self-identify, 47% were minorities.
