Pros

* Talented engineering team and interesting product * Growing company * Good opportunities to grow skills/career as an engineer * Leadership takes feedback seriously and works to resolve issues

Cons

* Leadership hasn't done a great job of sharing vision over the past year leading to some confusion/frustration among employees, have already seen improvement here though * One small round of layoffs in 2023

Benefits and Perks

We believe in the magic of in-person collaboration, where creativity flows and connections are forged. Plus, we really like spending time with each other in person! We operate in a hybrid model with 3 in-office days to maximize innovation and stronger teamwork. The other 2 are flex days, where employees can choose to come in or work from home. Teams are able to hire up to 20% of their teams remotely in certain states in the US.

Benefits and perks

  • Competitive healthcare, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at our San Francisco and New York offices.
  • Flexible PTO -- take time to recharge when you need it!
  • Parental leave & family planning benefits.
  • Mental health and wellness offerings.
  • $1,200 annual education stipend for anything learning-related (books, conferences, classes, etc.).
  • 401k matching.
Candidate Experience

Recruiting processes can feel impersonal and one-sided. We’d like to get to know you, and for you to get to know us. Here’s what you can expect from a typical interview loop, though some roles may have more or fewer interviews.

Introductory calls

  • If we see a potential fit, we’ll schedule an introductory call with a recruiter or hiring manager so that we can learn about your background and unique experiences. During this call, we'll also discuss your short-term and long-term career goals, ensuring that your path aligns with the opportunities at Retool!

Secondary screen or skills-based assessment

  • This intermediate step helps us get to know more about you and gives you an opportunity to learn more about what you would be doing day-to-day in the role. This interview will be catered to the respective role in order to assess the specific skill sets for that role.

Interviews with the team

  • We run both virtual and in-person interviews – if you are selected to move forward, your Recruiter will let you know the format for your interviews. Typically, our candidates meet with 4-6 people over 1-2 days. Our Recruiting team will also make sure you have a clear understanding of what to expect so that you’re fully prepared for your interviews!
