To create workplaces that enable great work.
Pros
The people are what make this company shine. Lot's of autonomy and a willingness to try new things.Cons
Sometimes there is too much autonomy.Diversity, equity, and inclusion At Robin, we believe that we can only advance the workplace if we empower all people. Our mission to enable great work can only be completed if we dissect our own biases and amplify underrepresented voices. We're actively working to build a culture that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion. Robin is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
Employee resource groups Employees created R-Allies as our company’s official diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. R-Allies imagines a company culture where we value each person for their perspectives, skills, and talents. A steering committee leads this employee group with subcommittees that educate and promote continuous learning among Robin employees in the following areas:
Community partnerships
In June 2020, Robinauts decided to lead regular donation drives to support the Black community. To kick things off, everyone nominated, voted, and selected the Boston Black Hospitality Coalition to be June’s donation drive recipient. Black-owned bars and restaurants established the Boston Black Hospitality Coalition following the onset of COVID-19 to help businesses through the pandemic’s negative economic effects.
In August, we led a second donation drive for The Education Trust. This national nonprofit works to close opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income families. Through research and advocacy, The Education Trust supports efforts that expand excellence and equity in education from preschool through college.
We focused September on supporting kids going back to school. Robinauts partnered with Operation Backpack, an annual school supply drive that provides low-income families and children with the essential tools for the upcoming school year. We donated over 30 individual backpacks for students between 3rd-5th grades.
At Robin, we understand the value and long-term effects of supporting the community around us. We look forward to partnering with more organizations in the future to help elevate those in need.

Learning and development programs
We created The Content Club to add greater visibility into diversity and inclusion within the Robin community. Our first event took place in September 2020 with the goal of giving Robinauts a safe outlet to engage in honest and productive conversation. Our first discussion focused on recent social events and how those challenges shaped both our personal and professional lives.
The Content Club offers monthly events, formatted as group discussions, and focuses on a singular theme. Ahead of each discussion, participants view a short video or review other content types (articles, quizzes, etc.) that explore the theme in detail. To date, we’ve hosted discussions on “Race & Justice” (September 2020) and “Voting & Misinformation” (October 2020). We are also planning to host a discussion around “Social Activism” (November 2020).
In early 2021, the Content Club aims to provide formal employee training in a cross-functional capacity to examine unconscious bias, diversity and inclusion, partisanship, interview best practices, and mentorship.
