Hiring

A big risk in small teams is that people tend to hire candidates who are very similar to themselves. Training, documentation, regular discussions. We go out of our way to avoid this.

  • Interview Training - Training on how to be cognisant of your biases and reduce them. Making sure people test for the right things and don't go off on a tangent because they 'like' or 'dislike' the person.
  • Values Interview - We believe this will help us increase the diversity of our interview panels and consequently reduce bias and reduce the possibility of discrimination.
  • Gender Neutral Job Adverts - All of our job adverts are run through a gender decoder. We have been using this one if you're interested.

Rewards and benefits

  • Salary Benchmarking - We have a Levelling, Progression and Salary Benchmarking project which will ensure that we pay fairly across all roles i.e. people doing the same work at the same level are paid equally.
  • Flexible Working - If you have children or are caring for relatives, we'll figure out a work plan together that is best for you and your team. 
  • Parental leave - Having a child is one of the most important life events, and those early years are critical to the child's development. We are therefore far more generous than other companies at our stage, and want to make sure parents have as much time to spend with their newborn as possible.
