Pros
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at SAGE Millimeter, now Eravant. I started in an entry-level position and was able to work my way up to a Supervisor role. Eravant was a company that went through enormous growth and was a fantastic place for myself to learn crucial skills and build my career. I truly believe I wouldn't have learned nearly half as much at any other company. The workplace was fast-paced at times, but that is to be expected when a start-up organization grows as rapidly as Eravant did. Despite the growing pains that come with the transition to a "scale-up" organization, there was always a serious sense of camaraderie within the team. I also always never felt a lack of support from upper management. Eravant also promotes from within, which is something that is rarely seen in larger organizations these days. Just for reference, I've had friends in similar fields being stuck in entry level positions for years. In Eravant, I truly believe if you have the aptitude and care about your position and the company, then you are rewarded.Cons
The lack of bureaucratic structure can be a turn-off for some, for myself it was a positive. If you don't handle "grey areas" well, or need extreme structure for your role, then it may not be the place for you. However, things may have changed since I left.Honorable Mention, Fast Company's 2022 World Changing Ideas, Fast Company, 2022 23rd Fastest-Growing Private Engineering Firm in America, INC Magazine, 2019
