Pros
Absolutely, no pros, just corrupt and selfishCons
I am writing to share my candid perspective on my tenure with Smood, which regrettably did not align with the values commonly associated with Swiss workplaces. I find it disheartening to report that the company appears to deviate significantly from the principles that define Swiss culture. The organizational conduct is, in my view, in stark contrast to the esteemed values held by the Swiss community. During my time with the company, I observed what I believe to be systematic issues related to employee treatment. There were instances of what seemed to be a disregard for employee welfare, manifested through exploitative practices and an apparent focus on minimizing remuneration. Initially, the compensation structure was based on a per-minute payment model, an unusual and arguably unfair approach. Although there has been a transition to hourly wages, the company's restrictive allocation of work hours and abrupt terminations without prior notice created an unstable work environment. Furthermore, I became aware of a situation involving an employee who faced challenges after an accident. Shockingly, the company delayed remuneration for three months, attributing the issue to insurance complications. It is my belief that a swift resolution could have been achieved with minimal effort, given the ease with which they organize non-essential events such as Halloween and Christmas parties. And when it’s something for the people in higher positions, things seem to be taken care of all the time . Employee dissatisfaction seems to be commonplace, with instances of termination for expressing a desire for increased work hours. This dynamic of frequent hiring and firing contributes to a perpetual state of imbalance within the workforce, adversely impacting productivity and fostering an environment of uncertainty. Despite numerous concerns being raised, it is perplexing that the Swiss government has not taken decisive action against Smood. Media outlets and public sentiment reflect widespread astonishment at the company's continued existence and its alleged involvement in exploitative practices. In light of my experiences, I feel compelled to caution prospective employees considering a position at Smood. While I acknowledge that individual experiences may vary, I believe it is crucial to exercise due diligence before committing to an organization with a reputation that appears incongruent with Swiss values. And also I will say that it is very shameful that Migro supermarket who represent themselves as a family, friendly business associates themselves with such a corrupt, exploitative company.
