Pros
Good benefits, good mission/vision. Overall staff care about delivering good care to AK Native people. . More generous than other companies I think. Huge company so I'm sure people and management and departments vary, but there is room to move around until you find one that is a good fit. No job is perfect but at the end of the day I think SCF cares about their employees.Cons
Pay is a little less I think than other similar jobs but again I think the PTO and medical insurance benefits, Wellness Time, etc are above average. I think it's hard for managers to fire people sometimes because of all of the hoops you need to jump through to do it, so sometimes you get stuck with lame people. That being said, I have found that managers/supervisors are generally picky about hiring. But once you have a dud you might be stuck with them for a while.
