Pros

Strong culture of operating principles, supported by a principles-first perspective on documentation and process mapping. There’s a culture of radical candor, team mentality, and a unified support for the organizational mission. Peer to peer recognition is encouraged, performance is noticed by all, and while the demands are high (as is true in startups in general), execution and delivery is recognized and rewarded. All teams have a ton of talent and it’s easy to learn rapidly if you’re hungry for it, and if you internalize feedback quickly. Great compensation that is highly market competitive, location agnostic, and transparent. WorkDAO’s posture on benefits and comp is one of equitability and human-first focus.

Cons

It’s very easy to forget your on/off boundaries - the team is decentralized and due to the demands of architecting and documenting SOP’s, there’s always an opportunity to easily let yourself get burned out. It’s discussed and all teams aim to be aware of working boundaries of one another, but it’s definitely a learning experience that takes trial and effort, and a high degree of communication. You will be tested in your bandwidth early on and there is often a need to set the process to “paper,” which can sometimes mean that there is ambiguity that needs definition.
