• In 2022, we continued to invest in programs that support inclusion and belonging, especially through our Employee Resource Groups and by hosting internships for students from historically underrepresented groups in STEM.
• We made key strides in representation, particularly for women and people of color.
• We will continue to improve our efforts to hire and progress a diverse and representative workforce who bring their skills and experiences to optimize our work in research and care.
• LGBT Benefits: Verily supports its LGBT employees in many ways, including coverage of same-sex domestic partners or spouses on our health insurance, offering FMLA equivalent leave, and offering a transgender specialist and coverage of reassignment surgeries.
• We offer six Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), our employee-initiated networks for supporting underrepresented employees and their allies with shared values of promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity at Verily. They shape Verily's culture and help to bring a sense of belongingness to many of our Veeps.
• ERGs play an important role at Verily and we intentionally support programs aligned to foster inclusion, belonging, and support for members. We’re working on ensuring every ERG has executive sponsors so they get the guidance and sponsorship they deserve. As we build out our programs every year, we encourage ERGs to ask their members “What would help you feel a greater sense of belonging? How can we as an ERG support that?”

Giving back through Verily Serve

Verily Serve is a week-long annual volunteering event centered around giving back to healthcare and STEM-related initiatives in our local communities. During Verily Serve 2019, over 330 volunteering opportunities were completed by Verilyers across 22 unique organizations over the course of one week. The volunteers donated over 800 hours of their time. We're excited to continue this commitment to our local communities!
