Pros
- Some nice, talented and smart individuals - Decent compensation for some but not across the business - Nice office in a good location with snacks - Good for individuals in the publishing + illustration space - Flexible workingCons
- Poor leadership, the CEO is nice but cannot deal with conflict - Leadership is not transparent and makes hierarchical decisions - No proper HR, they have one person who works half a day per week. They had good HR previously but could not deal with making any effective changes so got rid of them. - Many people in leadership roles have been there too long and are inexperienced. They have done things one way for so long they can't see past this and make the right changes. They are not open to feedback but pretend to be. - The business is run poorly because the execs are waiting to sell the business in several years and make some money at the expense of the people who work so hard for them. - There is one particular executive who is extremely problematic, misogynistic and racist. Many individuals have fed back on this but nothing is ever done. - Typical business that answers to stakeholders striving for unrealistic and unfettered growth - They strive to do too much at the expense of poorly implemented projects which negatively impact the productivity of the business - Poor and unstructured developmentThe Sunday Times Tech Track 100, Sunday Times, 2017
