A Break From the Monotony

A Break From the Monotony

It was during the thick of the pandemic in 2020 where all of our team's events were cancelled at UCLA Conferences and Catering, and we were meeting remote every day as a team. There was not much to look forward to and the daily occurrence of meetings with lack of actual objectives left my work days to feel unfulfilling. From conversations with my colleagues one-on-one to a workplace pulse survey I created and gathered data for, the data showed morale was low. I decided to host some small games and gatherings over Zoom like pictionary or sharing what skills and hobbies we've been enjoying. These seemingly small and benign games and gatherings helped provide some grounding and connection to one another as we were more than just colleagues facing the isolation and disillusionment in the sector of work we're in.
