The MFH Application Systems Architect role exists to provide overarching expertise and guidance for all applications that serve Multifamily Housing (MFH) clients and customers. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand new product and sales opportunities and solve them with software solutions. They build and architect solutions that address these business challenges through technology. The architect works with developers, designers, managers, business users, infrastructure engineers, and other architects to understand and design technical application solutions for the various products and channels MFH software engineering supports.
The principal role is to provide overall strategy, technical direction, guidance, design, development, and training to the software engineering teams that serve MFH. A key secondary role will be to help with modernization and other technical initiatives that support the MFH business. The architect will also help establish development best practices, process guidance, and promote creating reusable assets in the platform. Collaborate with other SMEs in MFH and Architecture groups, to ensure all planned and in-place architectures are aligned with the MFH standards and goals.
In short, the MFH Application Systems Architect will be expected to provide technical leadership to the organization helping with application design, infrastructure integration & automation, ongoing performance optimization and process improvement for the MFH applications.
What will my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Other Responsibilities:
Audit existing systems infrastructure and architecture to ensure an accurate understanding of present capabilities
Help design monitoring strategies for applications
Azure DevOps usage optimization
Ability to lead others in project delivery
Evaluate software systems that may be incorporated into platform
Assist with database design & data management
Mentoring developers across teams
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or equivalent Technical Certifications, etc.
8+ years of experience in software engineering
2+ years' experience as an Application Architect or Lead Software Engineer
Experience in application architecture, design, and development in .NET, Angular, Cloud and Java
Git and other source control systems
Deep and Broad knowledge of web protocols such as HTTP, HTML, CSS
Deep and broad knowledge of API Management concepts and features
Deep and broad knowledge of web service development using SOAP/REST
Broad knowledge of network infrastructure such as load balancers, firewalls, etc…
What other skills would be helpful to have?
Strong knowledge of distributed systems
Experience with cloud application design patterns
Experience with Mainframe systems
Ability to lead others in project delivery
Comfort in communicating with leadership on major issues
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple issues and tasks while remaining responsive to immediate problems
Experience in influencing others and interacting well with individuals throughout the organizational hierarchy
Understanding of various disciplines and technologies, such as web, directory services, directory synchronization, security, databases, networking, infrastructure and application development is key.
Multi-lingual is a plus
