Child Development Team Leader
Position Summary: Responsible for the overall operation of the Early Care and Education center supporting OKCPS parenting teen program. This includes the implementation of both Early Head Start Standards and Oklahoma Licensing requirements for the early care and education of infants and toddlers Essential Duties:
Assists with orientation to enroll new students
Maintains time and staff attendance
Maintains student records to ensure all records are up-to-date with health insurance information, allergies, details of any medical conditions they suffer from and authorization from the parents stating who is allowed to pick the child up from the facility.
Reviews weekly lesson plans of each infant/toddler teacher
Maintains meal count sheets for USDE reimbursement
Maintains CACFP applications
Completes a daily health and safety check with monthly fire drills and monthly report on student attendance.
Shops for food/formula not provided by the district vendor
Opens and secures the building daily
Covers classrooms when necessary
Works with parents to maintain DHS subsidy
Communicates with site principal concerning issues with the parenting.
Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials
Facilitates professional development for the staff
Maintains professional development records for each employee
Facilitates supply orders through the director’s office
Maintains all records for DHS and Early Head Start
Ensures quality care throughout the center which includes monitoring the facility, ensuring that it is a safe and healthy place for children, and adhere to proper state codes.
Works directly with staff to meet all center requirements
Promotes leadership in building communication between parents, children, faculty, and community
Ensures attendance of students through supportive efforts with each parent
Develops an environment that is communicative and collegial throughout the center
Promotes the overall effectiveness of the center by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities designated by the director during peak periods, or fill in when an individual is away from the center.
Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
Associates degree in Early Childhood
Directors Credentials or CDA certification/CCP certification
Four (4) years experience in early care and education programs
Strong child care management skills
Strong understanding of DHS Licensing requirements, Early Head Start standards, and adolescent parenting issues.
Knowledge of best practices in Early Child education
