The Virtual Engagement Associate (VEA) Program is the launching pad for a career at Morgan Stanley. The program was created to support experienced Financial Advisors (FAs) by executing aspects of their individual business development strategies. VEA is currently divided into two offerings: Digital and Planning.

    Digital VEAs leverage Morgan Stanley’s state-of-the-art tools to help FAs increase client engagement by managing their digital presence via social media and business websites, as well as by creating consistent client-specific communication based on Morgan Stanley’s unique Next Best Action tool.

    Financial Planning VEAs provide dedicated support to FAs by enhancing their financial planning process to produce authentic financial plans for clients and prospects by leveraging Morgan Stanley’s proprietary Goals-Based Planning System.

Position Overview:

The Virtual Engagement Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week summer internship program which provides an exciting opportunity for rising seniors all undergraduate majors and backgrounds to:

Work closely with full-time Digital and Planning VEAs and VEA managers on projects and tasks including, but not limited to, partnering with FAs and their teams to gain knowledge about their business model(s) and practice management
Begin studying for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, with study materials and an exam voucher provided by Morgan Stanley
Learn to navigate Morgan Stanley’s state-of-the-art Modern Wealth Management Tools with the goal of helping FAs develop their business and increase client engagement
Collaborate with fellow VEA interns on a real-time business topic and present a recommended solution to VEA leadership at the end of the internship
Network with FAs and employees within Wealth Management and across the Firm

Be considered for a full-time job opportunity within VEA

This internship is expected to take place in-person at our Alpharetta, GA office location.

    Be a team player: Partner collaboratively with fellow interns, full-time VEAs, and the VEA management team on all projects and tasks assigned

    Be eager to learn: Continuously improve understanding of investments and financial markets, through trainings and on the job learning

A Typical Workday as a VEA Summer Analyst:

    Learn to use the Firm’s Modern Wealth Management tools by shadowing full-time VEAs and managers to gain a thorough understanding of how VEAs enhance their FAs’ practices and relationships
    Collaborate with fellow intern class on real-time project presentations by interviewing full-time VEAs and managers, analyzing and synthesizing the group’s findings, and presenting solutions to management and leadership teams
    Attend VEA- and Wealth Management-specific speaker and networking events, where interns will have the opportunity to hear directly from senior leadership and be encouraged to foster their own professional networks
    Establish, maintain and support strong working relationships with colleagues both in VEA and across broader Wealth Management
    Seek constructive feedback and coaching from both the VEA Desk Manager and FAs, actively using it to improve how they approach future tasks

    Build a professional network with Morgan Stanley employees by creating and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues


QUALIFICATIONS

Skills You Bring:

We seek candidates from a variety of academic backgrounds who have a heightened interest in financial services. Successful VEAs have a unique blend of interpersonal and analytic skills that they leverage to build relationships with FAs and serve as a consultant for their client engagement strategies.

Specific Qualifications Include:

    Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025 at an accredited college/university; concentration or coursework in business-related field is preferred
    Exemplary communication, presentation, problem solving, prioritization, and time-management skills
    Organized, focused, and highly disciplined
    Authorization to work in the United States, without requiring, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status

    Successful completion of background check and pre-employment assessments
