ABOUT THE ROLE

At 3Degrees, we're a mission-driven B Corp helping organizations reach their decarbonization goals. As a Senior Salesforce Specialist, you bring a strong combination of Salesforce administrator, developer and project management skills.  You will be hands-on working with Salesforce and related cloud technologies, designing and implementing the key technical components of the Salesforce solution. You will proactively share and advise on industry and implementation best practices and partner with both technical and business stakeholders. 
This is a full-time, exempt role reporting to our Senior Director of Engineering.  This position is open to candidates ideally based within a commutable distance of our offices including Portland, ME,  New York, NY, San Francisco, California or Portland, OR; where you'll enjoy a flexible hybrid working environment.  Exceptional candidates based outside of the listed locations may also be considered.  In addition, you agree to travel, periodically to 3Degree's offices for training or team collaboration and to conferences and customers as required.  Frequency and cadence is team dependent, but on average is 1-6 times annually.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead Salesforce projects to drive growth and strategic alignment with key business objectives
  • Actively support all key aspects of the Salesforce platform, including configuration, development, user support, and application integration.
  • Design effective Salesforce solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and automation to maximize efficiency
  • Partner with stakeholders to define business requirements, design applications, oversee testing and ensure successful deployments
  • Lead internal projects, analyze business processes and collaborate across departments to optimize workflows
  • Administer and secure the Salesforce environment, managing risks, and keeping the org up-to-date
  • Administer and support add-on applications in Salesforce such as Pardot, Conga, Tableau, etc
  • Expand Salesforce adoption across departments, continuously improving processes
  • Prioritize and manage requests from various teams, ensuring everyone gets the support they need
  • Mentor team members and superusers, fostering a culture of Salesforce expertise
  • Onboard and train new users and teams on the Salesforce platform
  • Generate and maintain documentation on custom solutions and business processes leveraging Salesforce
  • Streamline data management and analytics within Salesforce to empower data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external resources to ensure project success

ABOUT YOU 

  • You are a seasoned Salesforce Professional with 4+ years of experience on the platform and a proven track record developing with Salesforce Apex
  • 3+ Experience configuring Salesforce integrations using a variety of methods such as APIs, Zapier, and native integrations
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce Lightning
  • You possess extensive experience with Salesforce Flow, triggers and validation rules
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with RESTful and SOAP API protocols is a must
  • Proficient with Salesforce administration and governance, particularly in organizations with multiple business lines
  • Proficient with MS SQL databases
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • One or more current Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Developer, Sales/Service Cloud) 
  • Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I and/or II, or Solution Architect certifications are highly preferred
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent years of professional experience in a relevant field

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

Within 30 days,

 

  • Gain an understanding of 3Degrees IT infrastructure, business applications, Salesforce integration needs, current implementations, and the portfolio of ongoing Salesforce development projects
  • Gain a solid understanding of 3Degrees business and strategic goals, particularly as they relate to the Salesforce platform
  • Begin collaborating with the Salesforce team and other internal stakeholders, contributing to ongoing Salesforce projects by suggesting improvements and actively learning business requirements

Within 90 days,

 

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of Salesforce configuration, development, user support, and application integration practices
  • Take ownership of managing and administering our Salesforce platform, ensuring its smooth operation and supporting the team in maximizing its utilization
  • Contribute meaningfully to ongoing Salesforce projects, including analysis, design, and implementation tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Actively mentoring Salesforce users and fostering a knowledge-sharing environment

Within 6 months,

 

  • Establish yourself internally as a trusted advisor and key resource for Salesforce best practices, and implementations, significantly enhancing our Salesforce capabilities
  • Successfully lead and complete a Salesforce project, demonstrating significant improvements in business processes/operations and process efficiency
  • Independently manage and deliver on assigned Salesforce projects, adhering to deadlines and meeting project objectives
  • Effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex Salesforce issues, minimizing disruptions to team workflows

Within 1 year,

 

  • Champion the continuous improvement of Salesforce at 3Degrees, identifying and implementing optimization opportunities
  • Lead the design and execution of complex Salesforce solutions, leveraging advanced automation and integration techniques
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks and security concerns within the Salesforce environment
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Compensation: The minimum and maximum salary for this position is $80,000 to $126,000 in the US. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, role requirements, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise

  • Supplemental Pay: this position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the company’s profit-sharing program and an annual performance bonus based on personal, department, and company goals
