Job Description

The Athletic Trainer will support the Human Performance (HP) program by delivering injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement services for SOF personnel. Key duties include:

  • Providing injury prevention, acute care, and rehab services within NATA guidelines.
  • Designing protective equipment and performing taping techniques.
  • Advising the HP Program Manager on injury prevention, sports medicine, and equipment needs.
  • Participating in meetings and reviews for quality care and program improvement.
  • Assisting with developing job descriptions, clinical guidelines, and training materials.
  • Documenting patient care and utilizing Military’s Electronic Health Record systems (AHLTA, GENESIS, SPEAR).
  • Ensuring safe use of equipment and contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Performing clinical and administrative tasks as assigned, with occasional lifting of up to 25 kg.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Athletic training.
  • Must be NATABOC Certified.
  • Experience in the field of strength and conditioning is strongly recommended but not required.
  • Possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning
  • Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or shall obtain the certification within the first year of employment.
  • Minimum of 5 years or more of accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) as an ATC with individual athletes and groups of athletes at levels of NCAA
  • Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying respective settings.
  • Valid unrestricted license from one of the 50 United States or its territories.
  • Must maintain credentials requirements in good standing at a local MTF where applicable. Must meet physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, and lift and manipulate.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • NATABOC Certification (Required)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (Required)
  • Must have a valid unrestricted Athletic Trainer License (Required)
