The Office of Academic Planning and Institutional Research (OAPIR) supports UCI’s ongoing development and progress towards its brilliant future by unifying people, data and information. Our team takes primary responsibility for the development and review of academic programs, accreditation, incubation of programs, establishment and implementation of campus initiatives, strategic plan development and measurement, student learning outcomes assessment and other institutional assessment projects, institutional reporting, comparative benchmarking, and data analysis on a variety of key performance indicators.
This position provides support and analysis for programs and projects within the purview of the Division of Academic Planning (DAP). Responsibilities primarily relate to academic programming and accreditation and campuswide strategic initiatives. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Under the general supervision of the associate vice provost (AVP), the analyst will support the division in developing and reviewing a variety of policies, projects, programs, proposals, and reports. Oversees website, data, and information management; and communicates with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of DAP. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.

$64,400.00 - $76,850.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $64,400.00 - $114,200.00 (Annual Salary)
Required:
3-4 years of work experience in an academic institution or related field.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Analytical / problem-solving skills. Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Strong policy analysis techniques. Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills. Skills to independently plan and conduct research related to strategic goals, analyze data, and appropriately report findings including executive-level summaries, reports, presentations, talking points, website content, and other official communications.
Preferred:
Experience working within a university or institution of higher education. Familiar with accreditation and UC education policies. Master’s degree or Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in higher education administration or related field.
