Job Description

The Director of Food and Beverage at Sofitel Brisbane Central is responsible for leading managers and team members in the food and beverage outlets and meeting and events operations to ensure the seamless execution of luxury food and beverage service in the hotel.

This role is hands on and requires leadership through action. It’s perfect for the person who is passionate about developing others and seeing them succeed. Being a leader in guest service will come naturally to you, from your passion for guest and team satisfaction and engagement. Driving innovation and efficiencies from ideas to successful implementation in the outlets will lead you to deliver products and experiences that are second to none.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee all hotel food and beverage and meeting and events operations
  • Provide direction and guidance to the relevant managers to ensure profitable and engaging departments
  • Live and breathe the Sofitel values and brand pillars, ensuring these are evident in all food and beverage areas and team member behaviours
  • Be a leader for sustainability and social responsibility and encourage the team's participation 
  • Drive innovation within the food and beverage teams and operations
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to strategise on new product and service offerings
  • Promote a strong culture and a team focused on creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

  • A luxury service focus, distinguished presence and elevated emotional intelligence is essential
  • Five years in a food and beverage senior leadership role in a large operational team with multiple outlets
  • International experience, especially across diverse regions such as Europe and the America, is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong networking skills with proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • IT savvy with strong computer skills and a systems expert
  • Experience in building a strong team culture
  • A record of high performance and achievement.
