Accountant (Baltimore, MD)

The Accountant position encompasses two roles, accounts payable and general accounting. In the accounts payable role, the Accountant will be responsible for all day to day activities. The general accounting portion of the role is related to month end close items. The Accountant at Sysmex Inostics must work in compliance with IFRS accounting standards including but not limited to accounts payable, preparing journal entries for monthly closing, conducting balance activity analysis, maintaining financial policies and procedures, and analyzing expenses to ensure compliance with Sunshine Act.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disburse invoices for approvals as necessary. Maintain a listing of all common account numbers used to encode invoices.
  • Enter all non-P.O. invoices in SAP after receiving appropriate approval and checking for the correct account/cost center. Attach copies of the invoices and approvals to the SAP invoice entry
  • Interface with the Director of Accounting to maintain, update and create new vendors, while maintaining an electronic file of W-9’s, ACH payment instructions and A/R email for remittance.
  • Maintain open payables, pull invoices to match check payments, and maintain all paid files. Prepare weekly ACH payments, Wire Transfer. Process all automatic withdrawals from Save checking account.
  • Effectively interface with associate/vendor inquiries for invoice status. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions.
  • Ensure account reconciliations are performed for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Cross-train on financial reporting to parent company.
  • Compile and analyze financial information, develop reports to ensure compliance with Sunshine Act.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Individual Education & Training Required for Position: Training required for this position is defined and governed in accordance to COP-0013 Associate Training and will be assigned in the LMS.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years required experience in accounts payable and general accounting, which may include experience in the Armed Forces. Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in accounting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and or S/4
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)

Pay: $53,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
