Accountant

Purdue University is looking for the right candidate that is ready to take their next giant leap with Purdue University. Purdue is currently looking for a candidate to fill the role of Accountant within the Accounting and Reporting Department. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records. This position will apply accounting principles and procedures in working with specialized accounting processes, transactions, and reports. The Accountant will manage and reconcile accounts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements and will help with the preparation of various financial reports.

Required:

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field.
• Two years of professional accounting experience or experience in a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in business applications, especially spreadsheets
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Provide a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, working independently, and contributing to a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to understand and prepare data analysis and present data according to requirements
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and implement new accounting standards, University policies, and procedures
