DevOps Engineer (Contract, 3 months)

Accrue Savings is a consumer fintech company on a mission to help Americans save. We believe that rewards, points and incentives shouldn’t only come from paying with credit. We help smart brands and retailers incentivize shoppers with cash rewards when they save up for both big and ongoing, smaller purchases. Accrue Savings is backed by a fantastic set of VCs and angels, and has a large number of early retailer customers, led by an experienced founder and operator with a growing team. We’re looking for curious, self-starters, who are determined to drive an idea from inception to market.

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment pipelines necessary for our cloud-based applications. Your expertise in AWS, Datadog, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Github workflows will be instrumental in optimizing our development processes and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

• Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure components such as VPCs, RDS databases, ECS, and more.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and security using Datadog, and implement proactive measures to address issues and optimize resources.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Pulumi.
• Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to ensure the timely detection and resolution of incidents.
• Continuously evaluate and implement best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization within AWS environments.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and contribute to the evolution of our DevOps practices and strategies.

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS cloud services, Datadog monitoring, and GitHub Workflows.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as ECS.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with implementing pipelines using GitHub Workflows or similar tools.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud architecture principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in production environments.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are a plus.
