The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for instructors for various courses, including: CEEN 311 Mechanics of Materials; and CEEN 360 Introduction to Construction Engineering.
Adjunct faculty are hired per semester. All the listed courses are taught in a coordinated setting which includes use of the common homework and exams, as well as a common course calendar and learning objectives. At a minimum, adjunct faculty participate in group grading for course exams and will perform other grading duties depending on the course. All course materials and student communications are managed using the learning management system Canvas. Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
