This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments’ access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become an outstanding teacher-scholar through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They are expected to teach using both in-person and alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development and innovation opportunities focused on pedagogical growth.

Job Description
St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential adjunct faculty librarians in University Archives. Responsibilities include:
  • Digitize, arrange, and describe archival materials
  • Assist in accessioning archival materials
  • Assist users with reference requests
  • Conduct research for archival displays and online exhibits
  • Develop social media posts
  • Assist in directing work of student assistant
  • Support University Library’s Affordability Initiative by assisting campus community in adding and finding content in The Repository @ St. Cloud State
  • Provide users with access to Archives
  • Special projects in support of the University Library strategic plan goals and the “It’s Time” campus initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Library science degree (MLIS, MLS, etc.) accredited by the American Library Association or related degree
  • Archives track in MLS or at least one year experience working in an archives doing professional archives work
  • Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an academic library
