Department Purpose

The Office of Enrollment Management provides leadership, planning, and management of Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS), the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), EM Analytics (EMA), Undergraduate Admissions (UA), EM Marketing and Communications, and EM Strategic Technology Initiatives. Enrollment Management oversees the development and attainment of campus enrollment goals through strategic recruitment; implementing UC and UC Davis Academic Senate policy for selective admissions; and providing support systems, policies and practices within FAS, OUR, Marketing and Communications and Strategic Initiatives that advance equitable student retention/persistence, graduation, and success outcomes.

Job Summary

The Chief Administrative Officer will lead, manage, and direct the full range of the organization’s business, human resources, and financial activities. The CAO will organize, plan, and direct analyses involving financial resources, staffing, space administration, policy and procedure development, and program planning and implementation. The individual will serve as a member of the EM Executive leadership team and serve as an advisor on key issues and processes. The position will be responsible for oversight of administrative policies and procedures; business practices (e.g. purchasing, accounts receivable, etc.); and human resource management. In the case of HR management, the Chief Administrative Officer will oversee the implementation of critical HR initiatives, serving as an advisor to supervisors and high-level managers.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Increasingly responsible business management experience to manage and oversee a complex and diverse group of units and programs in the areas of strategic planning and analysis, financial planning and budget analysis, human resources, space and facility requirements and information technology.
  • Experience with the change management, development of organizational structures, delegating, developing policies and procedures and implementation.
  • Human resources experience to recruit, supervise, train, evaluate, motivate, resolve problems/conflicts, conduct performance management, discipline, and build effective service-oriented team environment.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :

  • Skills to analyze and evaluate complex information and situations; synthesize ideas and integrate information; and to present viable, compliant solutions.
  • Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling, to work collaboratively within a culturally diverse workforce and constituents.
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience managing financial and budgetary needs of a complex organization.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using initiative, problem diagnosis and proactive problem-solving skills to develop and apply creative innovative approaches to problem resolution.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Quantitative and analytical skills to prepare statistical reports, budgets, and projections and to interpret reports prepared by others.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic planning principles; ability to design and facilitate dynamic organizational change to meet the evolving needs of the campus.
