Communication function: face-to-face, electronic, and telephone contact with students, parents, visitors, faculty and various university personnel. Support function: assist students, faculty, advisors and director with various needs; oversee student workers, maintain departmental files. Budgetary/Bookkeeping Function: maintain all aspects of the departmental budget; maintain and balance accounts monthly for the department. Assists the director in handling all fiscal matters, departmental level accounting, monitors budgetary spending by verifying charges against budget and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks which may include, but are not necessarily limited to, drafting correspondence and memos, scheduling appointments, assisting in the planning and coordinating of conferences, processing paperwork, receiving and directing students, determining distribution of mail, visitors, and incoming phone calls, gathering statistical information, filing, operating standard office equipment, maintaining Center website. Schedules classes in Banner. The director depends heavily on this position for both confidential and routine business matters of the department. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience working in an administrative support role. Proficiency in English grammar, communication, accounting, and computer skills. Experience maintaining a budget. Willingness to learn new computer software. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with a diversity of faculty, students, staff, university personnel and visitors. Ability to manage a complex variety of responsibilities efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience working in an academic environment. Some college. Knowledge of TTU policies and procedures. Experience with Argos, TECHConnect, Degree Works, Banner SSB and INB.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 12:00 and 1:00 to 4:30PM.

Salary
Commensurate with education and experience; Clerical and Support Skill Level 5.
