Administrative Secretary

The Department of Plant Pathology invites applicants for position of Administrative Secretary. The successful applicant will provide administrative support and assistance to departmental faculty, staff and students. This individual will greet the public and will be the point person for departmental activities, graduate students and customers. Will serve as the point of contact for the Department Graduate Students and work with the graduate school on a regular basis.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm and 7:30am-4:30pm holiday/summer hours

Advertised Salary:

Depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree in some aspect of office administration, or a High School Diploma and equivalent of work experience in an office setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and training in generally accepted office practices and procedures Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to establish and maintain an efficient filing system
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current or previous full-time employment in an office setting
  • Web Page and or Social Media Experience
