About This Role:
The Financial Services Division manages the financial health of PWPL, including a $21 million budget. The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to the Division and oversees the reporting of over $200,000 in revenue annually.

You’ll coordinate and prepare the daily consolidated bank deposit for 12 library branches, credit card revenue from 12 branches and online, and other payments.

You’ll provide escalated customer service support to PWPL colleagues regarding financial processes and transactions.

You’ll manage tracking, routing, and processing of incoming physical and digital work items, including 2,000 procurement card transactions annually for over 60 cardholders.

You’ll maintain and report monthly workload statistics.

You’ll serve as the Department’s Record Center liaison.

You’ll organize, track, and order work unit supplies.
-
You’ll be a keystone in the operations of the Financial Services team and the internal controls of the Department.
The workspace is located in the Administrative Support Center for the Prince William Public Libraries (lower level of Chinn Park Library).
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage numerous tasks and deadlines.

Commitment to accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Enthusiasm for contributing as a member of a high-performing team focused on the mission of the organization.

Proficiency with Microsoft office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, and OneDrive.

Experience using enterprise financial software.

Demonstrated experience with cash handling and internal controls policy application.

Previous experience in an administrative or financial setting for local government.

Demonstrated experience solving problems collaboratively.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule: The Prince William Public Libraries Administrative Services Center is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Telework up to one day per week after completion of training.
Starting Salary Range: $24.82 - $30.45
