The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

As an Advocate, you will provide professional support to crime victims, offer information/resources, and assist victims in court by helping them assert their rights as victims if you want to advocate for those experiencing trauma and the stress of the justice system.

We Require
Two years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, crisis intervention, or a related field which includes experience managing cases
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, family studies, psychology, or a behavioral or social science-related field
We Also Value
Experience working in a criminal justice system
Public service experience working in a victim or advocate-related capacity
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
Job Contributions
Provide information on the criminal justice system and on victims' legal rights and protections
Provide information on the criminal justice process, serve as a court accompaniment, and attend court proceedings with, or on behalf of a victim
Identify resources for victims and make referrals to various social service agencies
Provide crisis intervention/short-term counseling
Research case status using numerous computer databases, in person or by phone
Manage large caseloads, documents and prepare reports, and present findings
Work in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victims
Working Conditions
Office environment
Teleworking offered after 6 months of employment based on business needs
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Requires travel to and from job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County or private vehicles used on County business
Requires a thorough background check of all candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs
Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire
