Job Description

Our diverse Building Services team are looking for an Electrical Team Lead to join their team based in Brisbane. In this role, you will provide technical and team leadership on large-scale projects relating to Healthcare, Defence, Industrial, Transport, Infrastructure, Power and Iconic Developments such as the 2032 Olympic Games.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Manage a team of Electrical Engineers, at varying levels of experience, across several market sectors. Act as a mentor and coach to assist with their development as engineers alongside having oversight of the teams’ strategic project pipeline, resource planning, utilisation and work-sharing. 
  • Using your experience and network in the Building Services Consultancy space – lead electrical components of major projects, interact with clients and assist with the development of bids and tenders. 
  • Enhance technical expertise and maintain quality within the electrical engineering team, acting as the primary point of contact for resolving technical queries and challenges on projects.
  • Use your commercial acumen to guide the delivery of our projects for our clients in a commercially beneficial way for AECOM.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Ideally, 15 + years’  experience within the Electrical Engineering field with extensive experience in designing and delivering Building Services projects across Australia.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree alongside appropriate membership and accreditation (CPEng and RPEQ).
  • Outstanding technical capability within the Electrical Engineering field with a strong working knowledge of Australian standards, building codes and other regulatory frameworks and practices including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 1680, AS/NZS 2293 and the BCA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work alongside internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Firm commitment to sustainability principles and engineering best practices.
  • Due to the nature of the projects, Australian Citizenship (or ability to obtain) as well as eligibility for Defence Security Clearance is crucial.
