Job Description

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
  • Designs and develops plumbing systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Calculates heating and cooling loads for HVAC system design.
  • Collaborates with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate PHE systems into overall building design.
  • Prepares technical specifications and drawings for PHE systems using CAD software.
  • Conducts site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information for project planning.
  • Participates in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions related to PHE systems.
  • Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules for PHE components.
  • Stays current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in plumbing, heating, and engineering.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing, heating, and engineering (PHE) design for multi-use buildings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hiring
  • Proficient in PHE & Fire services Design for Buildings (multi uses)
  • Advanced knowledge of local and international building codes and regulations related to PHE systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks software
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including load calculations and energy efficiency principles
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D modeling techniques
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Proven project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
  • Ability to perform site visits and assessments as needed
  • Commitment to staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies in PHE systems
