Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry-Level Civil/Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment for the Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing water resources and site civil engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final work drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree emphasis in water resources.
  • Experience with Hydrologic/Hydraulic models.
  • Experience with stormwater management, stream restoration and flood mitigation.
  • Experience with standard computer software for the position (e.g. AutoCAD and ArcGIS).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Programs and capable of using spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
  • Engineer-in-Training.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong sense of commitment and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment.

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Germantown, MD. The selected candidate must be available to work in Germantown, MD on a scheduled basis. 
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
