Job Description

We are seeking a Field Coordinator for our bridge and Overhead Sign Structure inspection projects across New York State. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing critical roadway operations, coordinating lane closures, and maintaining inspection equipment. This role demands effective communication with state agencies to navigate permits and regulations. Travel thorughout NY based project site required. 

Key Responsibilities:

Lane Closure Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lane closure plans for various road types, including rural roads, urban streets, and high-speed expressways.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all lane closure plans, meeting or exceeding NYSDOT safety standards and requirements.

Inspection Support:

  • Coordinate and oversee the allocation of appropriate vehicles to inspection crews to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Rigorously manage the maintenance and readiness of inspection equipment to ensure optimal functionality for all project requirements.

Permit and Regulation Compliance:

  • Secure all necessary vehicular and lane closure permits from New York State agencies in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Maintain meticulous and comprehensive records for all project-related documentation to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.

Project Management:

  • Ensure strict adherence to project timelines through rigorous team coordination and resource management.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues to maintain project continuity and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. divers license.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more bridge inspection and or sign structure inspection experience with at least six months of field coordination experience.
  • Experience with Work Zone Traffic Control and Access Equipment Vendors in the NY and NJ Tri-State.
  • Be willing to take or has successfully completed the two-week NHI 130055 Bridge Inspection Training course and OSHA 10 training.
  • Experience with the NY and NJ state bridge inspection manuals.
  • Experience working directly with the New York State Department of Transportation or similar agencies.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for scheduling and project management is a plus.
