The Department of Teacher Education at Webster University is seeking a skilled and innovative AI Prompt Engineer and App Developer to join our research project team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the integration of generative predictive transformers into teacher training, specifically focusing on lesson planning, reflective professional inquiry, classroom activity design and online discussion modelling. As an AI Prompt Engineer and App Developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of teacher education through the application of advanced artificial intelligence techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Development

Collaborate with the research team to design and develop AI prompts and generative predictive transformer models for teacher education.
Conduct extensive literature reviews and stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing.
Explore and implement innovative approaches to integrate AI technologies into lesson planning, reflective professional inquiry, and activity design processes.
AI Model Training and Optimization

Collect, preprocess, and curate datasets suitable for training AI models.
Train and fine-tune generative predictive transformer models using large-scale teacher education data.
Optimize the models for performance, accuracy, and reliability through iterative experimentation and evaluation.
System Integration and Deployment

Collaborate with software developers and IT professionals to integrate AI models and prompts into existing teacher education platforms and systems.
Ensure seamless integration and compatibility of AI solutions with existing infrastructure.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve any technical issues or errors.
Collaboration and Documentation

Collaborate effectively with the research team, including faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders, to provide technical expertise and guidance.
Document and present research findings, methodologies, and technical specifications in a clear and concise manner.
Contribute to the preparation of reports, publications, and presentations for conferences and academic journals.

Minimum Qualifications

Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of teacher education, pedagogy, and instructional design principles is highly desirable.
Familiarity with teacher training, lesson planning, and reflective professional inquiry practices is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to design innovative AI solutions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively using remote communication tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and in a remote work setting.
Requisite Experience

Strong background in AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning techniques. Experience with generative predictive transformer models (e.g., GPT, GPT-3, or similar models) and their applications.
