Your Role 

As a Back-End Engineer on the Revenue Recovery team, you will design and implement production-grade APIs, services, and infrastructure that enable healthcare providers to analyze, report, and monitor the process of healthcare claim submittal performed by our AI platform. These services form the critical foundation that connects healthcare provider workflows with our AI platform, enabling comprehensive revenue cycle management and claim optimization across complex healthcare operations. 

You'll contribute directly to the evolution of our revenue recovery architecture, ensuring that all backend systems are scalable, secure, and built with clean, maintainable code. Your work will influence not just service functionality, but the platform-wide standards that drive API consistency, healthcare data compliance, and system reliability across our AI-powered revenue cycle solutions. 

In this role, you will: 

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and OpenAPI specifications, following modern API-first principles that enable seamless integration between provider interfaces, analytics dashboards, and AI claim processing systems. 

• Build and maintain RESTful endpoints and service contracts that support complex healthcare revenue workflows, ensuring robust data flow between front-end applications and AI agents managing claim submittal, tracking, and optimization processes. 

• Integrate and optimize data sources, such as Elasticsearch, into clean, modular APIs that support high-performance healthcare data access patterns and efficient caching for real-time claim status monitoring and reporting. 

• Collaborate strategically with front-end engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to define service contracts, data flows, and integration patterns that enable comprehensive revenue recovery workflows and AI-driven claim management optimization. 

• Champion system reliability by ensuring performance optimization, comprehensive observability, and fault tolerance across all backend services, with particular focus on the critical requirements of healthcare revenue cycle management and regulatory compliance. 
• Maintain code quality by writing clean, testable code that follows healthcare industry best practices and enables fast iteration cycles while supporting the complex requirements of AI-powered revenue recovery operations. 

Technologies you'll work with include Node.js, OpenAPI specifications, RESTful API design, Postgres, Elasticsearch, SQLite, and modern backend infrastructure tools—with a focus on healthcare data security, revenue cycle optimization, and high-availability service architecture for mission-critical financial workflows. 

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for engineers who thrive in healthcare fintech environments and want to build the foundational infrastructure that enables AI-powered revenue optimization for healthcare providers managing complex claim processes and financial workflows. 

Your Responsibilities 

• Design and implement backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and OpenAPI specifications, following modern API-first principles.   

• Build and maintain RESTful endpoints to support data workflows across UI, analytics, and AI systems.  

• Integrate data sources like Elasticsearch into clean, modular APIs.  

• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to define service contracts and data flows.   

• Ensure performance, observability, and fault tolerance across all backend services.  
• Write clean, testable code that follows best practices and enables fast iteration. 

Required Skills & Experience 

• 5+ years of professional experience building back-end services with Node.js.  

• Strong understanding of OpenAPI specifications, RESTful API design, and microservice principles.  

• Experience with NoSQL document datastores, such as Elasticsearch. 

• Familiarity with performance optimization, API caching, and scalable service design.  
• Proficient in debugging distributed systems and building resilient architectures.  

• Comfortable collaborating in remote-first teams across time zones. 

Nice-to-Have 

• Experience building internal developer platforms or service-oriented infrastructure. 

• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog, Loki). 

• Exposure to API gateway tools, rate limiting, and auth layer integration (e.g., OAuth2).  

• Previous work in regulated or mission-critical industries (e.g., healthcare, finance). 

• Working knowledge of the agentic AI tooling landscape.
