Job OverviewThis job announcement will be accepting candidate submissions until 11:59 EST on Wednesday, 21 Aug 2024.The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Integrated Capabilities Directorate (RS), Architecture Division (RSA),Architecture Analysis Branch (RSAE) is seeking to fill a senior-level Data Scientist position at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. This DR-04 (GS-15 equivalent) position will utilize professional expertise of algorithms and mathematical techniques and methods to gather, analyze, and design new processes to model, interpret, and report quantitative information, trends, and relationships in support of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) architecture and system engineering (ASE) division program activities, schedule, communication, and battle rhythm.Position duties include but are not limited to:• Leads projects with high visibility portfolio, unusual urgency and critical issues requiring identification of methods, processes, algorithms, tools, and systems to extract information and interpret findings from complex systems impacted by geo-political, economic, and military factors.• Expertly advises senior leaders for data-driven decision making.• Explores structured and unstructured data using various means to identify insights and trends and draw comparisons between adversary and DAF technical systems.• Demonstrates a mastery of, and skill in applying, innovative data science practices, techniques, and methodology to identify, analyze, interpret, and visualize data sets; ensures results are consistent with program objectives.• Independently conducts in-depth analysis of complex system data and disseminates the results of those analyses through reports and briefings.• Demonstrates creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed analytical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements.• Develops and maintains collaborations within and outside of AFRL.• Maintains a technical and programmatic cognizance of outside technological and research projects and programs; reports status to peers and senior technical leaders as required. Minimum experience requirement for APDP is 4 years, and the selectee will have 60 months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained.
