The Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team at Airwallex is a collaborative group of legal minds and risk management experts. We're passionate about safeguarding Airwallex's operations, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct, and ensuring we navigate the global financial landscape with integrity. We provide expert guidance and support to all areas of the business, proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing legal and financial risks.
What you’ll do
We are seeking a Senior Compliance QA Manager to join the Global Program and Standards team to carry out quality assurance and testing activities. The Senior Compliance QA Manager will be responsible for maintaining the QA framework, developing the QA plan, and carrying out QA activities to ensure that our policies and procedures are being operationalized as expected. In addition to conducting QA reviews and making recommendations, they will evaluate how Airwallex’s financial crimes controls could be enhanced to mitigate potential gaps and risks. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving complex problems, seeking creative solutions, and moving quickly while ensuring comprehensive results.
Responsibilities:
Execute Financial Crime Compliance QA reviews based upon the regulatory requirements, processes, policies, procedures to assess controls within the first and second lines of defense.
Understand the applicable regulatory requirements to ensure testing is adequately designed to identify potential control gaps and non-compliance with laws and regulations.
Carry out the planning/scoping, fieldwork and reporting phases of the QA review.
Escalate potential issues and exception items noted during the review process to senior management.
Ensure that the stakeholders respond with appropriate action to address all draft recommendations and deficiencies noted during the fieldwork process.
enter all issues and observations into the central risk repository.
Prepare and distribute testing reports to senior management detailing review findings and recommendations.
Prepare workpapers documenting the QA review with enough detail that a third party can reasonably understand the process and results.
Understand how Airwallex’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Who you are
We're looking for candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role. Preferred qualifications are a bonus but not a requirement.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 7 years experience in QA, testing, and governance roles within financial crimes, AML, sanctions, fraud, risk, or a related field.
Familiar with the fintech and payments industry
Strong research and writing skills, including drafting QA reports.
Strong communication, presentation, and problem solving skills.
Proven ability to take ownership of work and drive tasks to completion
Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-paced environment
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
Discretion in handling sensitive matters.
Preferred qualifications:
Proficiency in both English and Chinese
