Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct thorough eye examinations using specialized equipment to diagnose vision conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
-Diagnose and manage eye diseases and injuries, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
-Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring patients receive optimal vision correction.
-Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
-Educate patients on proper eye care techniques, preventative measures, and the importance of regular eye exams.
-Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
-Stay current with advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education opportunities.
-Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
-Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
-Valid state optometry license.
-Strong clinical skills with proficiency in conducting eye exams and diagnosing eye conditions.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
-Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in a clinical setting.
-Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
